This is a common theme for me. I love a good allegory or myth. The central figure sleeps on the reptile. This a combination of being asleep and the reptile brain being in control. The addict being in control. From here we see staircases leading to portals. A man sings in jail. The jail house rock. Meaning that we can be happy anywhere. Another person stairs at the portrait. It is a portrait of someone who troubles them and is overwhelmed by them. A father or a brother. The monk is meditating, and the reptile crawls on him. He controls the grasping mind through consciousness. There is a sleeping head or maybe someone who has lost their head. A older man walks stands at top of a staircase with a cane. He is wisdom. There is fruit of temptation. And at the bottom there is person stepping out of the light. These painting are existential reflections. They are designed to be mirrors to the viewer. Often my interpretation of the painting is not what other people see.
